Anne Gort – Customer Support Manager
Welcome to week two of our ‘Get to Know Us’ series!
This week we spoke to Anne Gort, Our Customer Support Manager who joined the Simply Workflow team in June 2014. Anne currently works remotely from County Wexford in Ireland.
We asked Anne the following questions:
What do you love most about working at Simply Workflow?
I like the variation because I never know what’s going to come in from day to day. One of the things I enjoy most is working with customers and trying to figure out what’s going on when they encounter an issue. It can definitely be a challenge, but that’s what makes it so rewarding when I’m able to find a resolution on my own.
There are times when I need to ask for help, but I always prefer to tackle the problem myself when possible. There’s something incredibly satisfying about being able to figure out a solution on my own, and it gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
I like the variation because I never know what’s going to come in from day to day. But it’s the challenge of resolving those issues that makes it all worth it. When I’m able to help a customer and leave them feeling satisfied, it’s a very rewarding feeling.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?
Patience I think, have a lot of patience! Things don’t always go the way you want them to or the way you anticipated that they would, so you need to sometimes take a deep breath, step back and have patience and come back and refocus.
If you could learn any skill in the next 10 minutes what would it be?
Better my sequel skills I think. I drive Cathal (Simply Workflow’s software development engineer) mad, I know I do. That’s why I’d like to be able to do more myself.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
Good question, probably a pet so I’d have some company. My favourite foods or ingredients to make my favourite foods and I guess clothing, comforts!
What superpower would you choose to have?
Sometimes I’d like an invisibility cloak, sometimes I’d like to be a fly on the wall, take it all in without being seen.
If you could meet any famous or historical person, alive or dead, who would you pick?
That’s another loaded question, there are so many people I’d like to meet! Let me say, Helen Keller. I think she would be a really interesting choice because she definitely had challenges.
Pineapple on pizza. Yes or No?
Yes! I don’t mind pineapple on pizza. It’s like a marmite thing and I like marmite!
Thank you for reading this week’s Get to Know Us and a huge thank you to Anne for taking part. Come back next week when we will be talking to Chesca Duchatschek, Business Analyst and Scrum Master at Simply Workflow!
